Capella Space
Five missions, two continents, one constellation.
Rocket Lab is contracted to launch multiple missions for Capella Space, an American space tech company and a leading provider of commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery.
The first of the four-launch contract for Capella Space launched on 24 August 2023 from Launch Complex 1. A second mission, launched on 19 September 2023, did not reach orbit. The remaining two missions for this contract are expected to launch in 2024 onward.
Each mission is to deploy a single SAR Earth-imaging Acadia satellite, a new generation satellite designed, manufactured, and operated by Capella Space, to low Earth orbit. In addition to providing the launch service, each mission will feature separation systems produced by Rocket Lab.
