BI ANALYST I

This position is based on site at Rocket Lab's APC office at Auckland, NZ. The BI Analyst will be responsible for developing BI reports and their underlying datasets, to provide analytics to a wide range of functional teams at Rocket Lab. The Business Intelligence Analyst role requires the person to be proactive with an enquiring mindset who can work collaboratively across the Rocket Lab business.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • Design and build intelligent visualizations & reports (Dynamic and static reporting) using the BI toolset and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting.
  • Data steward of ownership protocols ensuring accurate base data
  • Work with data engineers to mine data from a range of sources.
  • Perform analyses to discover trends and identify weaknesses or improvements, and then present that data in meaningful ways.
  • Maintain and develop data models to identify relationships between different groups of data.
  • Reporting architecture experience including report delivery methods, report reusability, calendars and scheduling and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Working with business users, to drive data analysis and process improvement activities forward in an organized and effective way.
  • Applying process improvement techniques across the business to help deliver efficiency gains and increases in output.
  • Contribute to the BI and EIS business plan. Be a forward thinking individual.
  • Perform operational tasks or roles as required.
  • Ensure data is always secured and access is controlled.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS (Must meet every point):

  • 3-5 years of working experience as BI Analyst and a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 Years of strong Power BI experience with DAX and Power Query.
  • Strong/excellent SQL Skills including PL/SQL.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Ability to work independently or with the team.and lead initiatives where required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Finance, Manufacturing or Supply Chain knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of Power BI Administration.
  • Azure cloud experience.
  • Agile experience.
  • MS SSRS experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
