About The Role

You will be working on the manufacturing of the electron launch vehicle - specifically the machining of the various components that make up this unique rocket. Day to day you will need to machine parts as required by the manufacturing schedule to meet our launch dates. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience and work alongside some of the best engineers in New Zealand.

The vast majority of the components that you will machine are used directly on the rocket and will travel to space! An enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude is required to fit into the team. All parts require a high attention to detail to ensure success of the assemblies which make up the electron launch vehicle.

We have machines in house including 3 axis lathes and mills that use either Siemens or Fanuc controllers. The tool path programming is programmed with either SmartCAM or GibbsCAM.

  • Self-motivated and proactive in your work, with good time management skills
  • A high level of attention to detail – you’ll be making rocket engine parts
